Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Gawaymbanha,

Welcome to Tumut Public School, proudly situated on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people, where learning has taken place for thousands of years before our school was established in 1859.

At Tumut Public School, we foster a vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student is known, valued, and supported. We are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming community where all students experience a genuine sense of belonging and are encouraged to aspire with confidence.

We hold high expectations and implement evidence-based teaching practices tailored to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Through this approach, we cultivate resilience, curiosity, and a growth mindset—empowering students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and to celebrate their achievements as lifelong learners.

Our commitment goes beyond academic excellence. We strive to develop the whole child by offering rich opportunities in creative arts, sport, leadership, and enrichment programs. This holistic approach ensures that every student can discover their unique strengths, build confidence, and enjoy a balanced and inclusive education.

Together with our passionate staff, supportive families, and engaged community, we continue to build a school where every student can thrive, achieve their personal best, and take pride in being part of the Tumut Public School family.

Mandaang guwu,

Alice Vigors, Principal of Tumut Public School
